Youth Sports Clubs Benefit from Brisbane's New Community Facilities
Local organisations expand access for young players through upgraded venues and social leagues.

Community Courts Open for Local Play
The $1.5 million multi-court facility at Roma and Turbot Streets in the Brisbane CBD provides free access for ball sports. Mirvac, Suncorp and Brisbane City Council unveiled the courts in July 2026, creating a central location for organised and casual activity.
Clubs and Leagues Using the Venues
Arana United Futsal Club in Everton Hills runs winter and summer social futsal leagues for players aged seven and older at the Hills District PCYC. Urban Rec Brisbane Social Sports League organises team competitions in soccer, netball, basketball, Aussie Rules and pickleball at multiple sites, with seasons running for 10 weeks. Beenleigh MultiSports Association Inc operates year-round touch rugby and touch rugby league in Beenleigh on more than 1 km of fields.
Football Queensland has introduced new SEQ community league structures, including the Brisbane League, to unify competitions under the Future of Football 2020+ reforms.
Supporting Infrastructure
Four cricket net facilities at Heathwood Park, Wolston Park, West End State School and Bellbowrie opened recently under the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund. These additions complement broader precinct works such as the Chandler Sport Precinct upgrades and the Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre.
