Best Seafood in Brisbane: Fresh Catches on the River and Beyond

Queensland's coastal location means Brisbane is well supplied with fresh seafood, and the city's restaurants and fish markets reflect that. The fish markets at the Port of Brisbane and various retail fishmongers across the suburbs are the place for fresh whole fish and prawns to cook at home. For dining out, restaurants along the river at Eagle Street Pier, South Bank and Norman Park have long been associated with quality seafood, and the Manly and Wynnum waterfront to the east offer a more relaxed bayside setting. Seasonal availability affects the menu, so asking staff what has come in fresh is always a good approach.
