Best Time to Visit Brisbane
Brisbane enjoys a subtropical climate that is warm and sunny for most of the year, but the seasons do matter for travel planning. The most comfortable visiting period runs from April through September — the dry season — when temperatures are pleasant (18–26°C), humidity is low, and the risk of summer thunderstorms is minimal.
June and July are the peak months for Australian domestic visitors escaping southern winters, and the city's accommodation and attractions are busiest during this period. The summer months (December–February) are hot, humid, and prone to afternoon thunderstorms, but the city is vibrant with outdoor events and the beaches of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are at their most inviting. The Ekka — the Royal Queensland Show — held in August is a Brisbane institution that draws the entire state.
