The Daily Brisbane Newsroom

How The Daily Brisbane covers Brisbane with AI-assisted journalism and human editorial oversight.

The Daily Brisbane is the Brisbane newsroom of the Daily Network, an AI-assisted local news service. We combine automated reporting with human editorial oversight to publish timely, accurate and useful news for people living in Brisbane.

AI-assisted journalism, not AI-only

Our articles are drafted by AI from verified public sources such as event listings, government notices, venue calendars, sports fixtures, transport alerts and community pages. Human editors set the editorial policy, choose the story mix, and review any piece that touches sensitive topics before it is published. AI is a tool in our newsroom; the editorial judgment is human.

We do not use fictional author personas, AI-generated profile photos or invented quotes. When a story is AI-generated, it is clearly labelled as such. If a byline reads “The Daily Brisbane” or a desk name, it means the piece was produced by our AI-assisted newsroom under publisher oversight.

How we source and review content

Every article starts with a named, publicly available source that we link in the piece so readers can check the original information. We do not publish anonymous tips, unverified social media posts or claims without a public source.

Before publication, content is checked against our editorial guardrails. The following categories are excluded from automated generation or held for human review: crime and court matters, political opinion, personal allegations, business disputes, medical or legal advice, and any claim that could harm a person’s reputation. For the full list, read our editorial standards.

Corrections and transparency

When we correct an error, we add a visible “Updated” or “Corrected” note to the article so the change is on the record. We do not silently edit published copy. If you spot something wrong, please email us at editor@dailybrisbane.com.au or use the contact details on our About page.
